Accelerated Reader (AR) motivates students to read more and read more widely through goal setting, personalized recommendations, and engaging quizzes. As students increase their reading volume, they build reading stamina, word recognition, and language comprehension skills.

Families are invited to come and learn about AR and how to support their students in reaching their reading goals.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a FREE GIFT courtesy of First 5 Amador and generous donations to our children! All you have to do is read to your child.

Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home. He/she can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library until he/she turns five years old as long as you remain a resident of Amador County. Should the child move outside Amador County, he/she automatically exits the program. 

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our Student Board Members!

Claire Kay, who represents Argonaut High School, is returning for her second year on the School Board.

Lauryn Kiekhaefer, who represents Amador High School, was sworn in for her first year at the August 12 Board Meeting.

Our student board members participate in board discussions and provide student advisory votes on agenda items. Their perspective is incredibly valued on our board, and we are excited to welcome them back for the 2026-2027 school year!

On Thursday, students from Amador and Argonaut High School attended the first official instructional class at the School Farm! The class, Farm Work Experience, is available to third- and fourth-year Agriculture students.

They started by weeding the rows of crops and harvesting tomatoes for their fellow students' lunches.
